MTV's Hollywood Crush:
Alexander Ludwig and Isabelle Fuhrman will represent District 2 as Cato and Clove.
"Hunger Games" fans may remember Alexander as one of the handful of actors on the shortlist to portray Katniss love interest and District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark. The 19-year-old is probably best-known for playing Seth in the 2009 Disney flick "Race to Witch Mountain."
Fellow tribute, 14-year-old Isabelle, already has one conniving creepster to her credit: She played evil Esther in the 2009 film "Orphan." (Meaning "bloody thirsty teen" is nothing new for her.)
The Hollywood Reporter:
- Ashton Moio and Kara Petersen have landed the unnamed tribute roles of District 6
- Unknowns Imanol Yepez-Frias and Annie Thurmanhave been tapped as the unnamed District 9 tributes for the upcoming Lionsgate film...
District 10 tributes have also been cast: newcomer Dakota Hood and stuntman Jeremy Marinas, who has appeared as a dancer in Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never," "The Green Hornet" and "The Expendables."
LA Times article on Woody Harrelson as Haymitch - Besides Katniss Everdeen, the character "Hunger Games" fans have been most eager for Lionsgate to cast in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' popular book, is Haymitch Abernathy, the drunken former tribute — a sort of young district representative — who reluctantly mentors Katniss and her partner Peeta Mellark as they enter a fight-to-the-death competition.
Luckily for fans, the filmmakers didn't disappoint. While both John C. Reilly and Hugh Laurie had been rumored for the role, the part ultimately went to Woody Harrelson, an actor who has just the right amount of crazy and sweet to pull off the role of Haymitch.
LA Times article on Stanley Tucci as Caesar - Tucci will play Caesar Flickerman, the upbeat host of the Hunger Games, a twisted entertainment spectacle that pits teenage boys and girls against one another and is televised for all of North America to see.
Tucci appeared in "The Devil Wears Prada," "Julie & Julia" and recently in "Burlesque." He is generally a character actor long known for his good-guy roles, but his startling performance as a pedophile/killer in "The Lovely Bones" earned him a best supporting actor Oscar nomination last year.
